‍About Federalism in Action

America’s constitutional republic has been hijacked, and together we’re going to take it back. The crisis can be revealed with three numbers:

28: The number of federal regulations unelected bureaucrats create for every law passed by Congress.

37: The percentage of the average state’s budget that comes from federal agencies.

2046: The year, if present trends continue, when the average state will receive a majority of its budget from Washington, D.C.

Today, federal agencies issue most of our laws and rely on the threat of fund stoppage to coerce states and localities into complying with their demands. By creeping far beyond their Constitutional enumerated powers, they have co-opted state and community authority. Unelected, unaccountable officials wield substantial control over lives.

However, all 520,000 of our elected state and local officials, from governors to county sheriffs, have powers to fight back. These officials can block, investigate, expose, and even refuse to comply with unconstitutional federal actions. The power to take back our country has been with us all along. We’ve just forgotten how to use it.

Federalism in Action exists to recruit, equip, mobilize, and elevate federalism champions in the states to restore the American birthright. Our network of state and local elected officials work side-by-side to confront federal agencies in state after state, to ensure that states and communities are governed not by distant federal bureaucrats, but by We the People.
